Mike is an incredible person and drum instructor. He has been teaching our kids for over 6 years. We love Mike so much we call him Maestro Mike. Mike genuinely cares so, so deeply about his students and their success. He has a huge heart and is full of energy. Mike is patient yet passionate about what he does and our kids respond well to that. As a result, he makes learning fun while still challenging their abilities so they continually grow as musicians. Mike is amazing and our kids love taking drum lessons with him. We highly recommend Mike to anyone interested in learning to play the drums.

Mike Killela is truly an excellent teacher. I started playing the drums when I was 50 and after a few years I performed publicly at clubs and other venues as a classic rock drummer. I attribute much of my success to Mike. He is GREAT at teaching me how to play cover tunes (based on my ability level) that sounded good enough to be performed in a band. A BIG plus is that Mike loves teaching drums and he is truly devoted to his students. You can’t go wrong with Mike. He is the BEST!!!! And no, I’m not being paid to say this LOL

Mike has been instructing my son for 3 years and I couldn't find a better drum teacher. From the first lesson he made my then year old feel comfortable and excited about music. Mike is adept at evaluating his students and tailoring the lesson to their level. He gives sincere and specific positive feedback, freely and often which support learning and builds confidence. When my son does not get something, with Mike's Playing or experience, he is able to suggest a different approach. (Let's try this...) to help him learn. Lessons with Mike are positive and fun, while learning to play drums and read and write music. My son looks forward to his lesson! Mr. Mike was a truly amazing teacher and really helped me learn drums in a whole new way that improved my overall musical ability in additon to just learning to play drum set. With his help, I successfully made my high school jazz band on drums after 3 years of not making the cut. As someone who learned drums as his second instrument, I can say that Mr. Mike can take anyone’s love of music and teach you skills on the drums that you can enjoy for the rest of your life!
